As some of you know, I sustained some pretty serious injuries to my chest plate. When I first got to the Turtle Sanctuary I was sleeping most of the time, and only got up for an hour or two to eat and stroll maybe 2 feet before crashing back out in my house. I was exhausted! But as each day goes by I'm getting stronger and stronger. I now get up around 9am and stay awake until maybe 2pm. I did several laps today in my garden, stopping to eat a few hibiscus flowers, and nibbling here and there on the Pineapple Guava......sweet paradise!

The New Rain Roof - and modifications to my house!!

So I have a new rain roof! Bad weather was heading this way this weekend so Mom decided that a roof on my house was not enough protection. So we built a rain roof underneath the shade material. Then Mom decided that my house needed a floor off the ground so she built my house on 2 inch stilts with a wood floor and a ramp. But she didn't stop there either....I now have air vents in my house so I can get a breeze when I crash out in there! And everyone knows I love watermelon, so that's what is on the roof of my house.....a big watermelon umbrella!

Day 2: And then came the modifications!

First to go were the Canna Plants. Mom thought they were Calla Plants (which are poisonous) so out they went! And in came the four Red Hibiscus, and the Pineapple Guava. Yuuuummmmmyyyyyyy! Then came the Jade plants and the Aloe Vera, and several Red Geraniums! As if I never got fed around here!

That big black thing is a small shallow water fall of sorts, that gets filled with water every day at 10am. It's just shallow enough so I can sit in it without the fear of drowning, even if I fell asleep in it! Very cool! :)

So like I said earlier....The food just keeps on comin! I get a huge plate full of Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, Romain lettus, Broccoli Florette's, and to top it off, so to speak.....red grapes! and ....on occasion the ultimate........ watermelon!!! Every now and then Mom tries to sneak in some of these nasty things called vitamins, and I mistakenly eat them, but it's better than bugs I guess! And that tall blue thing is my endless water supply!

We'll talk about the house in the next post! LOL!

Day 1: The Turtle Sanctuary!

Yes there is a Heaven and it is called The Turtle Sanctuary! And I moved into this Sanctuary on May 6, 2010. This is what it looked like the first night I spent there. I passed out in between the Cannas plants, and didn't wake up until 10am the next morning! Wheeeew!
